Harrogate 1 are the only side in Division One with an unblemished record after a tense 2-1 victory in the table-topping duel with Chapel Allerton 1.
Jackson Beresford, Harrogate's new recruit from New Zealand, proved crucial for the second week running. The match was poised at 1-1 after Ross Williamson had given Chapel A an early lead, then Simon Myring pulled Harrogate level by winning at second string.
Finally, in a lung-busting four games, Beresford triumphed over Declan Christie in the top string game, the 17/15 11/9 10/12 13/11 scoreline reflecting its closeness.
Ironically, having helped defeat Chapel Allerton on Monday night, two days later Beresford made his debut for Chapel Allerton in the Yorkshire Premier League, winning in straight games at Pontefract at No.4 string to keep them top of the table!
Chapel A 1 remain second despite that defeat, but hot on their heels in third are Chapel A 2. They won 2-1 against none other than bottom side Chapel A 3 thanks to victories for Ian Hogg and Richard Hinds, with Cameron Ward getting the 3rd team's consolation at top string.
In Division Two, there was a first defeat of the season for Chapel A 5, who went down at home to league newcomers Dunnington. Joe Cybaniak comfortably accounted for Dave Stannard, whose Aston Villa shorts were clearly a bad luck charm. Darren Mould's 3/0 win over Mike Robinson sealed the leaders' fate and they drop to third.
The new leaders are Harrogate 2 who won at a canter at Collingham 3. Peter Hotchkiss impressively recovered from the shock of being 'bagelled' in the first game to overcome wily Anthony Kettlewell. Steve Whiteley and Andy Keeling finished the job.
Collingham 2 have risen to second place after a third straight win, rolling over Adel 2 away from home, although No.1 string James Rollinson was taken to five by Richard Greenhalgh.
Into Division Three and amazingly the top three teams - Ilkley 1, Adel 3 and Chapel Allerton 7 - all still have perfect records after four matches. They avoid each other on next week's fixture list too, so could feasibly all still be unbeaten after five weeks!
Ilkley 1 lead the pack by five points despite, for the first time this season, not winning 3-0. James Pickersgill was the guilty party, taken out by Chapel A 8's Abi Milner, who sneaked away briefly from her duties as newly-appointed Bar and Events Manager.
In Division Four, Ilkley 3 and Collingham 5 have both won three out of three. Ilkley beat David Lloyd 2-1, while Collingham beat Adel 5 3-0.
