It was with great sadness we learned earlier this month that David Cockle - who served the Harrogate League for over 20 years - had passed away from heart failure.

In his honour, the committee has decided to launch the David Cockle Player of the Season award.

The inaugural winner will be given the trophy at finals night at the end of this season, with the award being presented by David's son Michael.
